No-BS Yardwork provides reliable, professional grass cutting across Winnipeg. Whether you need weekly mowing all season or a one-time cut to get things under control, we show up on schedule and leave your lawn looking sharp.
Choose weekly mowing during peak season or bi-weekly for slower growth periods. We adjust with the season so your lawn never looks overgrown.
Every cut includes trimming along edges, walkways, and beds — plus we clear clippings from all hard surfaces. No mess left behind.
Grass cutting is the most important recurring lawn care task — and the most commonly done wrong. We cut at the proper height for Manitoba's climate, maintain sharp blades for a clean cut (not a torn one), and show up consistently so your lawn never falls behind.
Winnipeg's dominant grass varieties — mainly Kentucky Bluegrass and Perennial Ryegrass — perform best when mowed at 3 to 3.5 inches during summer. Cutting too short stresses the grass, exposes soil to weed seeds, and accelerates moisture loss.
We never cut more than one-third of the blade height in a single visit. This "one-third rule" keeps the lawn healthy, prevents browning, and maintains the deep root growth Winnipeg lawns need to survive dry summer periods.
We cut grass across Winnipeg including St. Vital, Transcona, Charleswood, River Heights, St. Boniface, the West End, and surrounding areas. If you're not sure whether we cover your neighbourhood, give us a call — we're always expanding our routes.

Common questions about our mowing service, schedules, and what's included in every cut.
We're happy to talk through your property and what schedule makes sense.
Most Winnipeg lawns grow fastest from late May through late July and do best with weekly mowing during that period. Bi-weekly cuts are fine in spring and fall when growth slows. If you're not sure, we can assess your lawn and recommend a schedule that keeps it healthy without over-cutting.
We mow at 3–3.5 inches during summer, which is the recommended height for Kentucky Bluegrass and Perennial Ryegrass — the most common varieties in Winnipeg. In the fall, we gradually lower the height to 2–2.5 inches for the final cuts of the season. We never scalp a lawn.
We mulch clippings by default — finely cut clippings return nitrogen to the soil and break down quickly without leaving a mess. If the lawn is very long or clippings are thick enough to smother the grass, we bag and remove them at no extra charge. We clear all clippings from driveways, walkways, and beds on every visit.
Every visit includes mowing the full lawn area, trimming around all edges (fences, beds, walkways, obstacles), and blowing clippings off all hard surfaces. No hidden extras — what you see is what you get.
